Welcome! If you are searching for a religious home, we hope that you will find it here.
We come from different beliefs and religious backgrounds to share our common search for truth and spiritual meaning. Among us are Christians, Jews, Buddhists, agnostics, theists and atheists. We have found that we need one another, and that our lives are deeply enriched by our community. Our worship celebrates life, connecting us and re-dedicating us to grow our souls and serve the world. We have no creed or dogma that you have to believe to belong.
We come to be challenged: intellectually, spiritually, in our service and good works. We come to be reminded that what tastes good is not necessarily what we need!
We come to be comforted: in transition, in crisis, in grief and loss. We come together in community to take comfort and strength. When our own candle goes out, the light of another can rekindle our own.
Services
We welcome you to White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church! Sunday Services September - mid June are at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., with nursery care for infants and toddlers and Religious Education classes for prekindergarten through high school. Over the summer, there's a single service at 9:30 with nursery care, and classes for grade school kids.
We invite you to join us between services each week for coffee and conversation in the Social Hall.
Accessibilty
Large print hymnals and orders of service and audio enhancing devices are available at the Welcome Center. With the exception of the Social Hall Loft, all public spaces in the building are wheel-chair accessible. Please let us know if there are ways we can make our services and facility more easily accessible for those with physical disabilities.
About Our Congregation
White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church is a mid-sized congregation of about 650 members and 300+ children and youth, located in Mahtomedi, a small town on the eastern side of the Twin Cities. From mid-September through mid-June, we hold Sunday services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., with classes for children and youth held concurrently. There’s a coffee hour between the services, with home-made baked goods and time for conversation and connection. We have a nursery for infants and toddlers and active youth groups for junior and senior high school students. During the summer, we hold informal Sunday services (at 9:30 a.m. only) with childcare available for all ages.
We are a Welcoming Congregation, celebrating and affirming the active presence here of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and heterosexual members and friends, and their familes.
